Nathan Fletcher represents California’s 75th Assembly District. He serves as Assistant Republican Leader in the State Assembly and Chief Republican Whip. Fletcher was elected in 2008 and represents the City of San Diego and neighboring communities. Fletcher received national media on the Today Show and Fox and Friends for his leadership this month on “Chelsea’s Law” -- targeted legislation that would provide a new one-strike life without parole penalty for predators who commit the most heinous of violent sex crimes against a child. The law includes lifetime parole with active GPS monitoring. Fletcher is the first combat veteran of the Global War on Terror to serve in the California State Legislature. He serves as the Vice Chair of the Assembly Health Committee and the Select Committee on Biotechnology. A full bio with all committee assignments may be found at www.nathanfletcher.com. In 2007, Assemblyman Fletcher completed his service in the United States Marine Corps Reserves where he served as a Counterintelligence/Human Intelligence Specialist. On his last deployment, Nathan worked in the Horn of Africa region traveling throughout Eastern Africa and the Near East. For his service he was awarded the Joint Service Commendation Medal and Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal. In 2004, Nathan served eight months in the Sunni Triangle region of Iraq. Among the awards he received from this tour of duty are the Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal with Combat "V" for valor, the Combat Action Ribbon, and the Iraqi Campaign Medal. Fletcher is a recipient of additional military awards including the Benton R. Montgomery Award for Excellence and the Walter Morris Honor Graduate Award. Nathan is a graduate of many military training schools including the US Army Airborne Course and Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center. In addition to being politically active in California and nationally, Nathan is a champion for the democratic process and has spent time abroad working with philanthropic non-governmental organizations to build and improve democracies in East Timor, Cambodia and Serbia. Nathan is an Ironman Triathlete, marathon runner, and avid outdoorsman. He is a graduate of California Baptist University, where he was a Presidential Merit Scholar and member of the CBU baseball team. Fletcher lives in San Diego with his wife, Mindy, who recently served as Deputy Chief of Staff for Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Nathan and Mindy are the proud parents of their son Zach. |
San Ramon Mayor Abram Wilson and his family have been residents of the 15th Assembly District for thirty-three years. He is married to Dr. Karen Wilson, a retired dentist, and they’re the parents of two adult children – Natausha and Nathan (Nate). Mayor Wilson was elected to the San Ramon City Council in November 1999, appointed Mayor in 2002 and then became San Ramon’s first elected Mayor in 2003. He was unopposed in his 2005, 2007, and 2009 Mayoral re-election campaigns. Revitalizing a stagnant business/government relationship, Mayor Wilson helped create numerous civic projects that enhanced the quality of life for city residents. He also was instrumental in developing a police and fire Disaster Communication Plan for Bay Area cities and counties. As chairman of the City of San Ramon’s Finance Committee, Mayor Wilson has led the city in becoming the most financially sound in the region, with more than 50% reserves and a AAA bond rating. Prior to his election to the City Council, Mayor Wilson served thirteen years on the San Ramon Arts Council. He was then appointed to the San Ramon Parks and Community Services Commission where he served for ten years. Last year, Mayor Wilson was Chairman of the Contra Costa County Mayors Conference where he worked to manage growth and protect local communities from excessive development. Mayor Wilson was a banker for thirty years including work as a federal funds trader while Vice President of Wells Fargo Bank. As a Principal and Senior Account Executive at Bank of America, he gained valuable expertise about monetary policy, budget management and helping companies create new jobs. A United States Army veteran, Mayor Wilson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry at Central Ohio State University and he is very proud that both of his parents were public school teachers. |
