6-3-10 San Ramon, California – Altamont Strategies proudly congratulates Senator Sam Blakeslee on his stunning victory in the Senate District 15 Special Election held on August 17th. Republican Blakeslee won 48.8% to 44.1% over Democrat John Laird. Blakeslee’s win denies the majority party the ability to consolidate power in the Senate and come within one vote of claiming the two-thirds majority needed to pass budgets and tax increases, a move that would have devastated California businesses. “Sam Blakeslee is a first class legislator who made an extraordinary difference as Assembly Republican Leader. He protected taxpayer dollars and advocated for policies to enhance our fragile business environment. He will be a champion for California businesses,” said Judy Lloyd, President of Altamont Strategies. |
